Van Gogh was a poor artist in his case he was not recognized for his paintings till after his death. Vincent was an impressionist artist and. vincent van Gogh was born on march 30th 1853 in Groot-Zundert, Netherlands. exactly one year before hos little brother was born also named vincent sadly the baby died. vincent was always rejected by his mother because every time she saw Vincent she thought of her baby. As a young child vincent liked the outdoors just like his mother, but his mother made no effort to bond with her son, but soon vincents life was going to change. at the age 15, vincent was forced to get a job to help his family financial difficulties. He ended up get a job at his uncle's art dealer. This art dealer was famous and sold paintings all over Europe so it was no surprise when vincent got transferred to London. There he fell in love his land lady's daughter. One day he gathered enough courage to propose to the girl, the girl was so sorry but she was engaged to another man. Soon Vincent starts begging and pleading for her to give him a chance. Soon he became angry then started bullying and threating the girl and the landlady. They had soon had enough of it so they kicked him out. Vincent embarrassed and angered started acting rationally. He yelled at his bosses and colleagues, He even told his customers not to but the art and claimed it was worthless. Many people thought it was a phase but when it keeping on happening his boss had enough. Van Gough was fired after 7 years of working at the art dealer. He became very angered and wanted to quit everything but he was still poor so he had to get a job. Vincent ended up at a coal mine he preached to the poor and sick. He started to draw pictures of family's at the coal mine he eventually drew so many of these pictures they covered all of his walls. At 27 years old he was a failure no money, not a wife and no hope. Vincent looked at the drawing on his walls and decided to write to his brother. His brother worked at the art dealer that vincent got fired from. He wrote that he wanted to become an artist and that he needed money. His brother knew that starting at van Gough's age would be a challenge but he had hope in his brother. Van Gough started working on his first painting called potato eaters. It was, of course, an impressionist painting. It was the miners eating dinner under the dim light of a lamp. Vincent was so excited for his first painting to be sold. He sent it off to his brother in Paris, but sadly for van Gogh his brother sent it back saying it was good but couldn't be sold in pairs because of its dark and depressing look. Of course, vincent van Gogh had an idea. Vincent wrote to his brother he should live with him in Paris to feel te happiness and lightness that artist there felt. His brother insisted that he stay there after all his brother already busy. Vincent kept n send letters and his brother always responded in some form no. Vincent never listened so one day he just showed up and sent a letter to his brother to pick him up. his brother completely unprepared let him into his home. There vincent started working on paintings that his brother tried to sell but no luck. Vincent fell in love with a widow in Paris named kate her husband had just died. Vincent did not learn from his mistakes he proposed to her. She of coursed denied she was appalled by his sympathy, but vincent instead that it would make her feel better if they were married. He started threating her and watching her every move. Kates family was scared for her so they picked her up in a carriage and took her far away but vincent followed. Vincent came up to her family demanding he sees her. Vincent says, however, long I can hold my finger over the candle that's how long I can see kate, but the family refused. That day Vincent Van Gogh got hurt not only on the outside but on the inside. Van Gogh later returned to his life in the art the life and light inspired him he was amazed by the joy in pairs. His brother thought he needed to socialize, so he set up a meeting wth another artist with van Gogh. Van Gogh sometimes was hard to work with but his friends dealt with it. instead of hiring models they would use each other as models. He and his friends were very cheap. He started and his friends started skipping meals just for some paint. Paris started showing up with more Japanese paintings. the Japanese paintings inspired him he heard rummors that the light of japan was other places than japan. Apparently, the light was in Arles. It has been said that Arles is created for Van Gogh's inspiration for paintings. There he was happy but his money is running low. He stopped eating and it started to affect not only his looks but his mental state. People saw him eating paint he even sucked the paint off his brushes after he painted. His brother heard news and quickly became concerned he paid one of Van Goghs old friends to come and live with him. When Van Gogh's friend arrived at Arles his friend was not so happy to be there. Things started off fine but then things changed. The friends started fighting more and many of the times it was because his friend thought that Van Gogh was too stubborn and never wanted to do anything but art. This was one vincents characteristics he worked twenty-four seven. While many other artists liked to only work during the correct lighting he did not. One day one of Vincents fights came to a rising point his friend left frustrated. His friend ran out of the little yellow house that they lived in down into an ally. He, of course, followed him but with a razor. When his friend turned around to see him, Vincent left. Vincent was later found without his ear. His brother came to Arles to aid his brother. Vincent was put in rehab. It took a while to get him back when they said they could do no more vincent was still not back to his full health. He returned to the little yellow house feeling that is was empty without his friend. Vincent got news from his brother that he was getting married to vincent this was news his brother wouldn't be able to focus on helping him reaching his goals. It also didn't help that Vincent had has his heart broken many times. vincent went into a mental breakdown. The city was afraid that Van Gogh would harm or hurt the community. They kicked him out of the little yellow house. The house was boarded up and was never to see the living the light again. Vincent went into a spiral of depression. Van Gogh died in France on July 29, 1890, at age 37. He committed a suicide with a self-inflicted gun wound.
