We think most of you want to escape the cold and snow. Why not going to a beach and making a sand castle?

Sand sculptures are very creative ways construct art. They may seem simple, but have you wondered why they add water? They add water because while the sand is being sculpted, water is added to make it damp. The water adds a very interesting color to the sand. Now imagine what it would look like without water. It's a different image, right? Now focus on the detail in the picture, the spines from head to tail or the the scales on the head and arms. What about the texture(rough, smooth, hard, soft)?

From the head the dragon has scales from the tip of its nose to its broad shoulders. The horns on its head that bend back to what appears to its neck. There are two nostrils are right above the mouth. The dragon looks like it is grinning. The neck stretches into a compacted arch with spikes on it, there are also scales on it. After the neck the arms stretch onto what looks like a bowl. The dragons head is also nesting on top of the bowl. Then continuing on there is a castle on the dragon's back which consists of arches, pillars, and other structures. It's hind legs look like it's keeping the dragon upright at keeping the castle steady. From there on to the tail there are spikes or spines. The tail ends with a manta ray looking end. This is the the dragon picture. The picture has an unknown name, if you know what the name is please comment!

Now let's continue about talking with sand sculpting. Sand sculpting has been use for thousands of years to make magnificent sculptures. Glass is very new compared to the age of sand sculptures. Believe it or not glass is made from liquid sand, which comes from ordinary sand that comes from the beach. So think about all the glass sculptures you've seen, all of them originated from sand!!

Next time you go to beach, why not make a sand castle?

Or you could try making the sculptures below!
