LEONARDO DA VINCI

The Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. Leonardo was a painter, draftsman, sculptor, architect, and engineer. Leonardo Da Vinci is famous as an artist because he painted the last supper ,Virgin of the Rocks , and the well-known Mona Lisa and more. Da Vinci was alive around during The Renaissance period along with other great painters such as Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael.

Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452 and sadly died in 1519. Leonardo grew up in Italy and at the age 14 he became an apprentice for Andrea Del Verrocchio in Florence. When Lenard was an apprentice he learned an ample of things such as metalworking, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting, and sculpting. Da Vinci continued with is teacher till he was 20 years old, but still, then he continued calibrating with his teacher for another 5 years. After Da Vinci's long apprenticeship he worked for the Duke of Mulan were he worked as a military resource he sketched war machines such as a war chariot with scythe blades mounted on the sides, an armored tank. Leonardo worked as a designer for weaponry for 17 years. Da Vinci studied geology, zoology, hydraulics, aeronautics and physics. He sketched his observations on sheets of papers and pads and placed the papers in notebooks and arranged them around four broad themes painting, architecture, mechanics and human anatomy. He filled tons of notebooks with clear drawn illustrations and observations. Many of his sketches affected human life today. To conclude Leonardo da Vinci was not only a painter he was many other things and his studies and research is all around us.
